This 20-day Himalayan adventure blends the legendary Everest Base Camp Trek with the thrilling ascent of Island Peak (6,189m) — a perfect stepping stone into mountaineering. After flying into Lukla, the trail passes through Namche, Tengboche, and Dingboche, offering rich Sherpa culture and panoramic views. You’ll reach Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar before heading into the stunning Imja Valley for Island Peak. Led by certified climbing guides, you’ll use fixed ropes and technical gear to summit this iconic peak. With full acclimatization and expert support, this is your ultimate alpine expedition.
Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival, a Nona Getaways representative greets you and transfers you to your 5-star hotel in Kathmandu. Take time to rest or explore Thamel, Kathmandu’s vibrant tourist hub. In the evening, enjoy a detailed briefing with your guide and meet fellow climbers. You’ll be given essential info about the trek and climb, gear checks, and last-minute prep. Later, savor a traditional Nepali welcome dinner. This day allows you to transition into the journey ahead with excitement and confidence.

Start early with a scenic drive to Manthali, followed by a short yet thrilling mountain flight to Lukla. On arrival, meet your porters and begin your trek. Descend through pine forests and Sherpa villages alongside the Dudh Koshi River. Today’s gentle walk offers a great introduction to the Khumbu region. Pass mani walls and fluttering prayer flags before reaching Phakding village. Settle in at a cozy teahouse, and relax with mountain views and local hospitality.

After breakfast, cross several suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park. The trail ascends gradually through pine forests with occasional glimpses of Everest. A final steep climb brings you to the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar — the gateway to Everest. Enjoy panoramic views of Kongde Ri and Kusum Kanguru. Namche is perfect for acclimatization, shopping, or relaxing in cafés.

Take a day hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,880m), one of the world’s highest-altitude hotels, offering views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Continue to the Sherpa village of Khumjung, home to the Hillary School and traditional gompas. Return to Namche for rest. This active acclimatization day helps your body adjust to altitude while giving insight into local culture.

The trail contours along the valley before descending to the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing, climb through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche, home to the region’s most famous monastery. Enjoy the stunning mountain backdrop with views of Everest, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. After visiting the monastery, continue a short descent to the quieter village of Dibuche for the night.

Today’s trek takes you through Pangboche, the highest year-round settlement in the region, and onward past Shomare. Cross the Imja Khola and ascend above the tree line, entering a rugged alpine environment. Dingboche offers spectacular views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. It’s a peaceful village ideal for rest and acclimatization.

We hike to Nangkartshang Peak for sweeping views of Makalu, Lhotse, and the Imja Valley. The climb is steep but non-technical, and helps your body adapt for higher elevations ahead. Return to Dingboche by lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the village.

Ascend gradually to Thukla and stop at the Everest memorial site honoring fallen climbers. The trail continues beside towering peaks and glacial moraines until reaching Lobuche. The altitude makes this stretch challenging, but the dramatic views are rewarding.

Follow the glacial trail to Gorakshep, then continue toward Everest Base Camp. Trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier with striking views of the Icefall. After reaching Base Camp, take celebratory photos before returning to Gorakshep for rest.

Start early to hike up Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint for sunrise over Mt. Everest and its neighboring giants. After soaking in the views, descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue downhill to Dingboche.

Head east into the Imja Valley along glacial moraines to Chhukung. The path is less crowded and offers striking views of Island Peak, Lhotse, and Amphu Laptsa. Relax and prepare mentally for your upcoming climb.

A short, steep hike leads to Island Peak Base Camp. Set up camp and go through a technical climbing session with your guides. Learn rope techniques, harness use, and crampon walking. Early dinner and rest before summit day.

Wake up by 1 AM and begin your summit push using fixed ropes and climbing gear. The climb is strenuous with snow slopes, crevasses, and a final steep headwall. Reach the summit for unforgettable Himalayan views. Descend safely to Chhukung to celebrate your achievement.

This day is reserved for bad weather or health delays. If unused, it can be spent exploring Chhukung or descending to Pangboche for a more relaxed schedule.

Descend through familiar trails to Pangboche. Visit the ancient monastery and enjoy views of Ama Dablam. After several high-altitude days, this lower elevation offers much-needed comfort.
