Langtang Helambu Trekking - 10 Days Itinerary

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)

 

You will be warmly welcomed by representative of Nona Getaways at Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Thamel. Take time to relax, recover from your journey, and prepare for your upcoming trek. In the evening, attend a short briefing about the trek and meet your guide.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu (1400m) to Sundarijal (1460m), then trek to Chisapani (2165m) – 4–5 hrs

 

After breakfast, we drive to Sundarijal, the starting point of the trek. The trail ascends through Shivapuri National Park, passing waterfalls, stone steps, and rhododendron forests. After a gradual climb, we reach Chisapani, a peaceful village with sunset views over distant Himalayan peaks.

Day 3: Trek from Chisapani (2165m) to Kutumsang (2470m) – 6–7 hrs

 

Today’s trail descends briefly before climbing through terraced farmlands and mixed forest. We pass small villages like Pati Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang, absorbing the rural lifestyle. The final stretch ascends steadily to Kutumsang, where we rest amid forested ridges.

Day 4: Trek from Kutumsang (2470m) to Tharepati (3510m)– 6 hrs

 

Today’s trail climbs steadily through lush rhododendron and fir forests with intermittent views of the Langtang mountains. As we gain altitude, the scenery becomes more alpine and the air cooler. The route passes through Mera Danda, a ridge offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding hills and snowcapped peaks. After a final push along a forested ascent, we arrive at Tharepati — a windswept ridge-top settlement and one of the highest points on the trek. On clear days, you can spot peaks from the Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, and Jugal ranges.

Day 5: Tharepati to Melamchigaon (2530m) – 4 hrs

 

After breakfast, we begin a steep descent from the high ridgelines of Tharepati toward the lush Hyolmo region. The trail winds down through dense forests and occasional yak pastures, revealing glimpses of mountain views through the trees. As we descend further, the terrain becomes greener and more settled. We reach Melamchigaon, a beautiful Hyolmo village known for its traditional stone houses, ornate monasteries, and friendly locals. It’s a great place to experience the fusion of mountain culture and natural beauty.

Day 6: Trek from Melamchigaon (2530m) to Sermathang (2590m) – 5 hrs

 

The route today is more gentle, weaving through forested hills and isolated communities. We pass chortens and monasteries, eventually arriving at the large village of Sermathang. It offers a blend of cultural insight and spectacular views of the Jugal Himal range.

Day 7: Trek from Sermathang (2590m) to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (870m) – 5 hrs

 

Today’s descent takes us through beautiful terraced landscapes and scattered Tamang settlements. We pass pine groves and prayer walls as we head downhill toward the river valley. Our trek concludes in Melamchi Pul Bazaar, a bustling local town.

Day 8: Drive from Melamchi Pul Bazaar (870m) to Kathmandu (1400m) – 5 hrs

 

After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu along winding roads, passing farmlands and rural settlements. Upon arrival, you’ll have the afternoon free to shop, explore, or enjoy a well-earned rest.

Day 9: Final Departure

 

Our team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport according to your flight schedule. Leave Nepal with fond memories of the serene Helambu region and its unique cultural charm.
