Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Nona Getaways will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Later in the evening, you’ll attend a pre-trek briefing at the Nona Getaways office, where you’ll meet your guide, review the itinerary, and go over essential trekking information. This day allows you to relax and recover from your flight while getting oriented for the thrilling journey that lies ahead.

Day 2:

 Drive to Dharapani (1,860m) – 10–11 hrs

Today begins with an early breakfast before we leave bustling Kathmandu and head westward on a scenic drive. We first travel via private  vehicle jeep as we enter the rugged mountain roads. The journey winds through terraced fields, river valleys, and picturesque cools and pine forests begin to appear. After a long yet scenic drive, we reach Dharapani, a tranquil villages, offering glimpses of rural Nepal. As we ascend through the Marsyangdi Valley, the air village and important trail junction on the Annapurna Circuit.

Day 3:

Trek to Chame (2,610m) – 5–6 hrs

Our first day on foot begins with a pleasant trail that follows the Marsyangdi River. We cross suspension bridges, pass through dense forests, and hike past charming Tamang and Gurung settlements. As we climb steadily, the landscape shifts to pine and fir forests, revealing snow-capped peaks in the distance. The trail offers views of cascading waterfalls and rock cliffs before reaching Chame, the administrative center of the Manang District. Nestled beneath Annapurna II, Chame provides both comfort and breathtaking scenery—a perfect place to rest and acclimatize.

Day 4:

Trek to Upper Pisang (3,300m) – 5–6 hrs

Leaving Chame, the trail climbs gradually through pine forests and along the Marsyangdi River. As we trek deeper into the valley, the landscape becomes more rugged and dramatic. A major highlight today is the impressive Paungda Danda rock formation, a massive curved cliff face rising dramatically above the valley. Continuing upward, we reach Upper Pisang—a charming stone village with traditional houses and a peaceful monastery. From here, the views of Annapurna II and IV are truly spectacular. This peaceful mountain setting marks our entry into the drier rain-shadow region of the Annapurna range.

Day 5:

 Trek to Manang (3,540m) – 6 hrs

Today we follow the scenic high route, traversing through the beautiful villages of Ghyaru and Ngawal. These traditional settlements sit perched on ridges and offer some of the most jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Annapurna massif, especially Annapurna III and Gangapurna. The trail winds through arid, alpine terrain scattered with chortens and mani walls. We also pass monasteries and yak pastures, getting a true sense of Tibetan Buddhist culture. Eventually, we reach Manang, a bustling village nestled in a wide valley, where trekkers acclimatize before higher ascents. It’s a vibrant place with bakeries, shops, and spectacular scenery.

Day 6:

 Acclimatization Day in Manang (3,540m)

Today is reserved for acclimatization, allowing your body to adjust to the rising altitude before continuing to higher elevations. We stay in Manang and take short, optional hikes to nearby attractions such as Gangapurna Lake or Chongkor Viewpoint, both offering stunning views of the glacier and surrounding peaks. This day also provides an opportunity to explore the village’s bakeries, shops, and monasteries.  Rest and hydration are emphasized today to prepare for the more strenuous segments of the trek ahead.

Day 7:

 Trek to Siri Kharka (4,060m) – 4–5 hrs

After breakfast, we leave the main Annapurna Circuit trail and begin our approach toward Tilicho Lake. The route climbs steadily through sparse alpine terrain, yak grazing fields, and scree slopes. Although the path is narrower and more remote, it offers spectacular mountain vistas and a quieter experience. As we ascend, you’ll notice a shift in the landscape, with fewer trees and more barren, rocky surroundings. Siri Kharka is a secluded settlement perched above the valley, offering incredible views of the Annapurna range and a peaceful atmosphere for rest and reflection.

Day 8:

Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4,150m) – 4 hrs

Today’s trek is shorter but more adventurous as we follow a narrow trail carved into the cliffside. The route is thrilling and demands attention, especially in landslide-prone sections, but the reward is unmatched views of Tilicho Peak, Khangsar Kang, and other towering mountains. As we carefully make our way through the dramatic landscape, the silence of the high Himalayas deepens. Upon arrival at Tilicho Base Camp, we rest and prepare for tomorrow’s early morning hike to the world’s highest lake. This remote base offers basic accommodation and the serenity of the surrounding alpine wilderness.

Day 9:

Hike to Tilicho Lake (4,920m) & Return to Siri Kharka – 7–8 hrs

We rise early and set off before sunrise for the dramatic ascent to Tilicho Lake, one of the world’s highest and most sacred glacial lakes. The path is challenging due to its elevation, but the reward is extraordinary – Tilicho’s shimmering blue waters surrounded by a ring of snowy peaks. After soaking in the views and capturing unforgettable photos, we carefully descend to Base Camp for lunch. The journey continues with a return trek to Siri Kharka, retracing our steps through steep slopes and rocky terrain. It’s a long but rewarding day filled with raw Himalayan beauty.

Day 10:

 Trek to Yak Kharka (4,018m) – 5–6 hrs

 we descend from Siri Kharka and reconnect with the main Annapurna Circuit route near Khangsar village. From there, the trail gradually climbs again through alpine meadows, juniper shrubs, and high pastures dotted with yaks and wildflowers. The views of Annapurna III, Tilicho Peak, and other towering summits stretch endlessly before us. As we reach Yak Kharka—a small seasonal settlement used by herders—we are greeted by fresh mountain air and a peaceful ambiance ideal for acclimatization. The slower pace of the day helps us adjust as we prepare for the upcoming high-altitude crossing.

Day 11:

Trek to Thorong Phedi (4,550m) – 4–5 hrs

Today we make our way to Thorong Phedi, the final base before crossing the famous Thorong La Pass. The trail climbs gradually, traversing dry, rugged hillsides scattered with boulders and grazing animals. Though the hike isn’t too long, the increasing altitude can be felt, and we walk at a steady, mindful pace. The barren high-mountain terrain evokes a sense of vastness and isolation. At Thorong Phedi, we settle in early to rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the most challenging and exhilarating day of the trek—tomorrow’s crossing of Thorong La, one of the highest trekking passes in the world.

\Day 12:

Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416m), Trek to Muktinath (3,760m) – 8–9 hrs

We begin our trek in the early hours, using headlamps as we make the slow and steady ascent to the legendary Thorong La Pass. This is the highest point of the trek, and the panoramic views from the summit are nothing short of spectacular—Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and a sea of peaks stretch in every direction. After soaking in the accomplishment, we begin a long and careful descent toward the revered village of Muktinath, a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists. This day is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding.

Day 13:

 Drive to Tatopani (1,190m) – 5–6 hrs

After breakfast, we board a jeep and descend dramatically through the world’s deepest gorge—Kali Gandaki Valley—passing by windswept plateaus, riverbanks, and rugged hills. As we travel toward lower elevations, the arid landscape gives way to greener surroundings. Upon reaching Tatopani, meaning “hot water” in Nepali, we’re welcomed by its famous natural hot springs. Soaking in the warm, mineral-rich waters is the perfect way to soothe aching muscles and rejuvenate the spirit after days of trekking. The relaxing setting in this riverside village makes it a cherished stop.

Day 14:

 Trek to Ghorepani (2,880m) – 6–7 hrs

We leave Tatopani behind and begin a steady uphill trek, gaining altitude as we pass through terraced fields, dense forests, and charming hillside villages. The trail is shaded by rhododendron and oak trees, and offers glimpses of cascading waterfalls along the way. As we ascend, the air becomes cooler again, and we reenter the lush greenery of the lower Himalayas. After a full day of trekking, we reach the vibrant village of Ghorepani, nestled just below the famous Poon Hill viewpoint. The village offers cozy lodges and spectacular mountain scenery all around.

Day 15:

 Sunrise at Poon Hill, Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m) – 5–6 hrs

We rise early for a pre-dawn hike to Poon Hill (3,210m), where we witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises in the Himalayas. As the first light strikes the snow-capped peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, the sky transforms into a palette of glowing hues—a moment that will be etched in memory. After this visual feast, we return to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast and begin our descent through dense rhododendron forests and picturesque villages. Eventually, we reach Tikhedhunga, a peaceful village nestled among terraced fields and rolling hills.

Day 16:

Trek to Nayapul (1,070m), Drive to Pokhara (822m) – 4 hrs

Our final day on the trail takes us through a scenic stretch of the lower hills, passing small Magar villages and lively farmlands. The trail gently descends alongside tranquil streams and stone staircases as we approach Nayapul. From here, we board a private vehicle and drive to the vibrant city of Pokhara. Known for its tranquil lakes and relaxed ambiance, Pokhara is the perfect place to unwind. The comfort of your hotel and the energy of Lakeside offer a refreshing reward for completing this incredible journey.

Day 17:

Drive to Kathmandu – 7–8 hrs

After breakfast, we leave Pokhara behind and begin the return journey to Kathmandu by comfortable Scorpio . The scenic drive traces river valleys and terraced hillsides, offering a last glimpse of rural Nepal’s beauty. Upon arrival in the capital, you’ll check into your hotel and have the rest of the afternoon free to explore or simply relax. This evening is ideal for last-minute shopping, a visit to a garden café, or enjoying a celebratory dinner reflecting on the trek’s incredible experiences and challenges.
