Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a Nona Getaways representative welcomes you and transfers you to your hotel. After check-in, take time to rest or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, we hold a trek briefing with your guide and fellow trekkers, followed by a traditional Nepali welcome dinner where you can enjoy local cuisine and cultural ambiance. This is your time to prepare mentally and logistically for the journey ahead.

Overnight: 3-Star Hotel

Meal: Dinner

Day 2 – Scenic Drive to Salleri (2,360m)

We begin our adventure with a long but scenic drive from Kathmandu to Salleri, the administrative headquarters of Solukhumbu district. The drive winds through the Himalayan foothills, terraced farmland, and charming villages, offering glimpses of snow-capped peaks on clear days. It’s a wonderful way to witness Nepal’s diverse topography. As we ascend gradually, the air becomes fresher and cooler. Upon arrival in Salleri, we settle into a local guesthouse and rest for the next day’s journey.

Overnight: Local Hotel

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Drive to Surkhey & Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

After breakfast, we drive from Salleri to Surkhey—located just below Lukla—where our trek begins. We descend slightly before joining the main EBC trail. The trek continues along forested trails, passing small Sherpa villages and mani walls. We gradually ascend alongside the Dudh Koshi River to reach the riverside settlement of Phakding. The sound of the river and the lush surroundings set the tone for the days ahead.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 – Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Today’s trek is both scenic and challenging as we follow the Dudh Koshi River and cross several suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Bridge. The trail ascends through rhododendron and pine forests and enters Sagarmatha National Park. After a final steep climb, we reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region. This lively Sherpa town is full of shops, bakeries, and stunning mountain views.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 – Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Today is an important acclimatization day. We take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Along the way, we may visit the Khunde Hospital or Sherpa Culture Museum. Returning to Namche, we enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring the local markets and cafés. This gradual exposure to altitude prepares us for the upcoming days.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 – Trek to Dibuche (3,870m) via Tengboche

The trail from Namche leads along a scenic contour route with views of Everest and Ama Dablam. After lunch at Phunki Tenga, we ascend through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche, home to the region’s largest monastery. After a brief visit and chance to join the monks in prayer, we descend to Dibuche, a quieter and more sheltered spot just below Tengboche.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 – Trek to Dingboche (4,243m)

Today we trek through a dramatic landscape of alpine meadows and dwarf shrubs, with stunning views of Ama Dablam and the surrounding peaks. We pass Pangboche village and cross the Imja River. As we ascend, the vegetation thins, and the air becomes cooler and drier. We reach Dingboche, a beautiful village nestled in a wide valley, often graced with yak pastures and stone walls.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8 – Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m)

A crucial acclimatization hike takes us to Nangkartshang Peak, a perfect vantage point above Dingboche. The trail is steep but rewarding, offering breathtaking views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Island Peak. After spending time soaking in the scenery and adjusting to the altitude, we descend back to Dingboche for rest and hydration. This prepares us well for the high-altitude days to come.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 9 – Trek to Lobuche (4,940m)

We leave Dingboche and head toward the Khumbu Glacier. After a gradual climb, we stop at Thukla for tea and continue up to the memorials at Thukla Pass, dedicated to climbers lost on Everest. From here, the trail flattens and leads us to Lobuche, a small, windswept settlement near the base of the Khumbu Glacier. The views are stark, raw, and breathtaking.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10 – Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) & Return to Gorakshep (5,170m)

Today is the pinnacle of our trek. We start early and trek along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Gorakshep. After a short break, we continue to Everest Base Camp—marked by prayer flags, glacial formations, and climbers’ camps during spring. We spend time absorbing the grandeur before retracing our steps to Gorakshep for the night.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 11 – Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) & Descend to Pheriche (4,371m)

We rise before dawn and hike to Kala Patthar for the best panoramic sunrise views of Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori. The golden light on the peaks is unforgettable. After descending to Gorakshep for breakfast, we continue down to Pheriche, passing the rocky terrain and following the Imja River valley. The lower elevation feels refreshing after days at high altitude.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 12 – Trek to Namche Bazaar

Our descent continues as we retrace our steps through Orsho, Pangboche, and Tengboche. The trail through forests and suspension bridges feels easier now, and we soon arrive in Namche. Take the evening to enjoy warm food, a hot shower, and maybe even a bakery treat in this bustling Sherpa hub.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 13 – Trek to Chaurikharka (2,620m)

We leave Namche and descend through Monjo and Phakding. Instead of stopping in Lukla, we head toward Chaurikharka, a peaceful Sherpa village above the Lukla airstrip. This offbeat destination offers a quiet retreat and a closer connection with local life, away from the busier Lukla crowds.

Overnight: Mountain Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 14 – Trek to Tham Danda & Drive to

We descend on foot to Tham Danda, a jeep-accessible point below Lukla. Our rugged 4WD journey to Salleri takes us along dramatic mountain roads, passing waterfalls, hillsides, and forested ridges. Though bumpy, the route provides a final glimpse of the Himalayas before returning to civilization. We reach Salleri and rest.

Overnight: Local Hotel

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 15 – Drive to Kathmandu

We depart early for our full-day drive back to Kathmandu. The journey retraces our steps through mid-hill towns, green valleys, and winding roads. Expect a long yet scenic ride. Overnight: 3-Star Hotel

Day 16 – Free Day in Kathmandu (Optional)

Today is yours to explore the colorful streets of Thamel, shop for souvenirs, or visit cultural landmarks like Swayambhunath or Patan Durbar Square. You may also choose to unwind with a spa treatment. It’s a day to reflect on your trek and enjoy Kathmandu’s laid-back charm before departure.
