Mera Peak (6,476 meters) stands proudly as Nepal’s highest trekking peak, offering sweeping 360° views of five of the world’s tallest mountains: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga.
This non-technical yet physically demanding climb is ideal for those seeking their first Himalayan summit. The journey leads you through the untouched Hinku Valley, passing through dense rhododendron forests, traditional Sherpa villages, glacier moraines, and stunning alpine terrain.
The final push from High Camp to the summit demands determination and good acclimatization—but with expert guides and careful pacing, this climb becomes a transformative personal achievement.

📅 DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m) & Transfer to Hotel
Welcome to the vibrant capital of Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your 5★ hotel. Take time to rest or stroll around Thamel’s bustling lanes. In the evening, enjoy a warm welcome dinner and a briefing about your upcoming Mera Peak expedition.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Salleri (2,360m)
Today’s overland journey takes you from the Kathmandu Valley into the heart of the Solu region via scenic winding roads. As you ascend through hilly landscapes, enjoy lush forests, cascading rivers, and traditional villages. The drive, lasting around 8-9 hours, introduces you to the rural beauty of eastern Nepal. Overnight in Salleri, the district headquarters of Solukhumbu.

Day 3: Drive to Thamdanda and trek to Chutenga (3,050m)
After breakfast, a rugged jeep drive winds up to Thamdanda — the road-head to Mera. From here, begin a short but gradual trek through rhododendron forests and into higher alpine terrain. Arrive in Chutanga, nestled in a tranquil clearing surrounded by hills, where you’ll rest and acclimate.

Day 4: Trek from Chutanga to Tuli Kharka (4,200m) via Zatrawa La Pass (4,610m)
Begin the ascent toward Zatrawa La Pass, a challenging yet rewarding climb offering panoramic views of Dudh Kunda peaks. Descend gradually to the meadowlands of Tuli Kharka through yak pastures and rocky trails. The scenery transitions into more open alpine landscapes.

Day 5: Trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe (3,600m)
Today’s trek descends through dense pine and rhododendron forests toward the Hinku Valley. You’ll follow the Inkhu Khola river, with glimpses of Mera Peak in the distance. The route is filled with chirping birds and a peaceful wilderness feel. Kothe, your stop for the night, lies nestled in this serene valley.

Day 6: Trek from Kothe to Thangnak (4,350m)
Following the valley deeper, you’ll trek alongside the river with Mera’s glaciers towering above. The trail gradually ascends to Thangnak, a yak herder settlement beneath dramatic peaks like Kusum Kanguru. Pass beautiful moraine ridges and enjoy views of hanging glaciers.

Day 7: Trek from Thangnak to Khare (5,045m)
The trail to Khare climbs a glacial valley bordered by towering cliffs and ice formations. This short but steep hike brings you to the last settlement before the climb. Khare serves as your base for training and acclimatization. Views of Mera Peak become awe-inspiring here.

Day 8: Acclimatization & Climbing Training in Khare
Today, practice using climbing equipment and crampons with your guide. Training includes rope techniques and glacier safety, preparing you for the summit push. Spend the afternoon resting while soaking in the icy landscapes and mountain silence.

Day 9: Trek to Mera High Camp (5,780m)
A strenuous trek over glacial terrain leads to High Camp. You’ll cross the Mera La Pass (5,415m) and follow the glacier to a rock outcrop where High Camp is set up. The camp offers breathtaking sunset views over Everest, Makalu, and beyond.

Day 10: Summit Mera Peak (6,476m) & Descend to Khare
Summit day begins pre-dawn with a headlamp-lit climb across the glacier. Although non-technical, the climb is physically demanding due to altitude. At the top, be rewarded with one of the Himalaya’s finest panoramas. After celebrating, descend carefully to Khare for rest.

Day 11: Contingency / Reserve Day
An extra day built into the itinerary to accommodate weather or altitude-related delays. This improves your chance of a successful and safe summit.

Day 12: Trek from Khare to Kothe
Retrace your steps back down the Hinku Valley through the same pristine wilderness. As altitude drops, your strength and comfort return, and you can appreciate the landscape anew.

Day 13: Trek to Tuli Kharka
The route retraces back uphill through rhododendron forests and into alpine meadows. A peaceful and scenic day as you slowly climb back to Tuli Kharka.

Day 14: Trek to Thamdanda via Zatrawa La Pass
Crossing the Zatrawa La Pass again, enjoy the final views of the snowy peaks before descending to Thamdanda. This marks the end of the trekking section.

Day 15: Drive from Thamdanda to Kathmandu via Salleri
A full day’s drive through mountain roads brings you back to Kathmandu. Along the way, soak in scenes of terraced fields, remote villages, and Himalayan foothills before reaching your luxury hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 16: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
Explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur or Patan Durbar Square. Immerse in rich culture, spiritual heritage, and centuries-old architecture.

Day 17: Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for Departure
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your international flight. Depart with lifelong memories of your Himalayan summit adventure.

2 nights in Kathmandu at a 3★ hotel, twin-sharing room, bed and breakfast plan.
1 night at a lodge in Salleri (twin-sharing).
14 nights in high-quality mountain lodges or tents (twin-sharing).
Meals: All meals as per itinerary (17 breakfasts, 14 lunches, 15 dinners).
Transportation: Overland transfers by Scorpio or similar 4WD vehicle as per itinerary.
Permits & Fees: All necessary trekking and climbing permits, including TIMS.
Guides and Support Staff: Experienced English-speaking climbing guides, Sherpa support team, cooks, and porters.
Climbing Equipment: Basic climbing gear provided for training and summit (crampons, ropes, harnesses, etc.).
Medical Kit: Comprehensive first aid kit carried by guides.
Sightseeing: Kathmandu valley sightseeing day with a professional guide.
International airfare to/from Nepal.
Nepal entry visa fees ($50 USD for 30 days or $150 USD for 90 days).
Travel insurance, including emergency evacuation and high-altitude coverage (mandatory).
Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu (except the welcome dinner on arrival).
Personal expenses: phone calls, internet, battery charging, hot showers, laundry, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, toiletries, personal gear.
